ARTIST STATEMENT

Since early childhood, I have experienced the world through a heightened sensitivity and a profound sense of connection with everything around me. The intuitive perception of subtle relationships, rhythms and structures that often elude immediate awareness forms the foundation of my artistic practice.

I approach drawing as an epistemological practice - a way of knowing in which knowledge emerges through the very act of creation. I draw intuitively, freehand and without preliminary sketches, exploring the relationships between the visible and the invisible, intuition and consciousness, and the human being and the wider systems of which we are part.

I use digital technologies as instruments of expanded perception, generating and translating data and signals into sonic, visual and material forms. Through this process, I investigate how phenomena and structures beyond the limits of immediate human perception can become accessible to the senses.

For me, creation is also a profound inner experience of connection with the Source. My artistic practice arises from an understanding of existence as an interconnected whole, in which the individual, the collective, the natural and the cosmic are continually intertwined.

Through art, I seek to expand the boundaries of perception and knowledge, deepen awareness of our interconnectedness, and contribute to the cultivation of empathy, collective intelligence and unity as foundations for a more responsible relationship with life and the well-being of humanity.

METHODOLOGY

Research process and artistic approach

Martina Moon Zelenika’s transdisciplinary practice is grounded in expanded drawing as an epistemological practice, connecting intuitive creative processes with digital technologies, sound and audiovisual media.

Her drawings emerge freehand, without preliminary sketches, through a process of intuitive exploration in which line, rhythm and repetition become instruments of perception and knowledge.

She employs digital technologies to generate, process and translate diverse data and signals into sonic, visual and material forms, expanding the possibilities of human perception and making otherwise inaccessible processes perceptible to the senses.

Bringing together intuitive and computational approaches, her practice explores the relationships between the visible and the invisible, the human and the more-than-human, natural systems and technology, and physical matter and digital data.

MEDIA AND FIELDS OF RESEARCH

DRAWING

SOUND

SPATIAL INSTALLATION & MOVING IMAGE

Freehand works created without technical aids or preliminary sketches. The intuitive line becomes an instrument for investigating invisible frequencies, communication systems, cellular structures, electromagnetic impulses, and cosmic forces.

Sound objects, data sonifications, and acoustic sculptures transform information and subtle signals from the body, the environment, and outer space into immersive auditory experiences.

Installations, video, film, and digital animation activate architecture and atmosphere, creating a dialogue between the cosmic dimensions of space and embodied perception.

EXPERIMENTATION

Scientific methods, contemporary technologies, and artistic intuition converge to materialise invisible systems and worlds, testing the limits of perception and artistic media.

INTERACTIVITY

Responsive systems shaped by the viewer’s presence and movement create a dynamic, real-time relationship between audience, space, and artwork. These works may incorporate biosensors, motion tracking, and augmented reality.

PROFESSIONAL INQUIRIES

Portfolios, project dossiers, technical specifications, and selected documentation are available for curators, galleries, and institutions. MOON ROOM welcomes invitations for exhibitions, commissions, artist talks, research partnerships, and interdisciplinary collaborations.
