ABOUT MOON ROOM

MOON ROOM is an independent art space in Zagreb, founded by transdisciplinary artist Martina Moon Zelenika and officially inaugurated on 9 September 2026. Combining an artist’s studio, gallery and platform for interdisciplinary exchange, MOON ROOM brings together artistic research, experimentation and human connection.

Rooted in an understanding of art as an epistemological practice, MOON ROOM explores the relationships between perception, consciousness, nature and the interconnected structures of existence.

Guided by a humanistic vision of unity, empathy and collective intelligence, the space seeks to foster awareness, critical inquiry and a deeper understanding of the world we share.

Through exhibitions, collaborations and dialogue, MOON ROOM brings together diverse artistic and intellectual perspectives, creating a space for meaningful exchange at the intersection of art, philosophy, science and contemporary thought.

Independent Space for Art & Inquiry

MOON ROOM begins from the premise that architecture is not a neutral backdrop, but an active medium of artistic experience. Its compact footprint becomes a creative advantage: a futuristic, minimalist interior foregrounds light, proportion, height, and the possibility of flexible installations.

The space supports focused exhibitions, artistic production, small-group research, private viewings, and conversations in close proximity to the work.

ARTIST & FOUNDER

Martina Moon Zelenika

Martina Moon Zelenika is a Croatian transdisciplinary artist, Assistant Professor in New Media and designer whose practice operates at the intersection of art, science, technology and philosophy.

At the core of her practice is expanded drawing as an epistemological practice - a way of knowing through the very act of creation. Her drawings emerge intuitively, freehand and without preliminary sketches, exploring the relationships between the visible and the invisible, the human and the more-than-human, and intuition and computational processes.

In her post-digital works, she transforms sound, data and material signals into experiential fields that explore complexity, interconnectedness and distributed forms of intelligence. Her practice is informed by an ongoing interest in consciousness, collective intelligence and empathy.

Her work has been presented at exhibitions, festivals and conferences across Europe and Asia.

Through MOON ROOM, an independent art space she founded in Zagreb in 2026, she explores space as an artistic medium, a site for research, interdisciplinary dialogue and direct encounters between art and its audiences.

Martina Moon Zelenika’s practice spans expanded drawing, spatial and environmental installation, sonification, moving image, interactive work, and interdisciplinary research, connecting visual, sonic, and spatial experience.
